Legal Services: The Foreclosure Prevention Project

The Foreclosure Prevention Project: Works with homeowners, especially those who have subprime, non-traditional, or high cost loans (high APRs and interest-only loans), or who are victims of unfair or fraudulent practices, to avoid foreclosure and remain in their homes. The Project is part of a coalition with HUD-approved housing counseling agencies who also work with homeowners, in a collaborative effort to prevent loss of home.

The Project is funded by: Dept. of Housing and Community Renewal (DHCR), NYS Banking Dept., and Long Island Community Foundation.
