Attention Veterans! In January 2023, the Supreme Court held that there is a firm one-year timeframe for military veterans to apply for retroactive service-connected disability benefits, and cannot be extended even when the veteran is not at fault for missing the deadline. Veterans who have a service-connected disability should apply for benefits within one year of leaving the service.
