The Department of Education has extended the deadline until April 30th, 2024 for consolidating non-direct (e.g. FFEL, Perkins, or HEAL) loans to benefit from the income-driven repayment (IDR) Account Adjustment. Further, Parent PLUS borrowers who are not yet eligible for forgiveness will need to consolidate their loans by April 30, 2024, to access the Income-Contingent Repayment (ICR) Plan and continue making progress toward IDR forgiveness. Parent PLUS borrowers can only access ICR by consolidating into the Direct Loan program. For more information, please visit the Department of Education’s website.
